Dial and Hands
The dial features a classic silver sunburst finish, accented by applied baton indices with black inserts. Displaying its original finish, the surface exhibits noticeable age-related spotting and minor surface debris visible under magnification. The luminous plots at the outer edge of the indices remain present but have darkened and degraded over time. The baton hands, also featuring black inserts, show light oxidation and aging across their metal surfaces, with their luminous material matching the darkened state of the dial plots.

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel tonneau-shaped case displays honest wear while preserving its original geometry, characterized by brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks. It shows moderate scratches, small dings, and edge wear consistent with age and regular use. The caseback exterior features a ‘WATERPROOF’ engraving, and the domed acrylic crystal exhibits minor surface scratches and light wear typical of the material. A signed Omega crown completes the side profile, showing surface scratches and normal wear.

Movement
Inside beats the Omega Caliber 565 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels and a quickset date function. The signature copper-toned finish appears clean and well-preserved, with engravings clearly reading the brand, jewel count, caliber, and serial number 31144437. While minor handling marks are visible on some screw heads, there are no obvious signs of heavy corrosion or moisture damage. Recording +5+6s/day on the timegrapher. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.

Strap
The watch is fitted with a period-correct stainless steel brick-link style bracelet. It presents normal wear for its age, showing moderate surface scratches throughout the links. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of up to 19cm.

Condition
Good vintage condition. The silver sunburst dial displays noticeable age-related spotting and darkened luminous plots, while the hands exhibit light oxidation consistent with the dial’s aging. The tonneau case retains its original geometry, showing moderate scratches, small dings, and edge wear. The period-correct brick-link bracelet displays normal surface wear and scratches. The movement is performing very strongly, supported by the recorded timegrapher result.

Dimensions
The case measures 34mm in diameter, excluding the crown.

Remarks
This Omega Genève offers a highly practical layout powered by a respected automatic movement. The versatile sunburst dial, reliable quickset date function, and comfortable brick-link bracelet make this a compelling choice for daily wear.

History
The Omega Genève line was produced in large quantities during the mid-twentieth century, serving as a reliable and elegantly styled everyday watch. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the collection had adopted robust tonneau case shapes and dependable automatic calibers, making it an accessible and highly respected entry point into vintage Omega. The Caliber 565 is widely appreciated by collectors as one of Omega’s most durable and practical mass-produced automatic movements of the era, notable for its push-pull quickset date mechanism.
