Slender, rhythmic, energetic. S Column 2, produced in 2003 by Joel Froment, is a vertical sculpture where the contrast of colors and the tension of lines instill an almost architectural power. From a height of more than two meters, this unique work, in acrylic painted wood, imposes its presence while summoning the rigor of a geometric language.

The piece fits into the unique visual vocabulary of Wheat, a renowned figure in French contemporary abstract art, known for his explorations of the balance of forces, light, and verticality. Matte black structures the sculpture, while a band of bright red on one side and deep green on the other cross it like opposing and complementary energies.

The central element, composed of twelve regularly spaced cylindrical modules, introduces a kinetic dynamic. Depending on the point of view, the sculpture evokes a system, a column of harmony, or even a silent score. The work is hand signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the gallery.
