Catawiki presents its first design collaboration, created exclusively for the platform: a limited series of rugs designed by the Milanese design studio Studiopepe and brought to life by the Danish manufacturer Ege Carpets. This is a cross-border collaboration, reflecting a design history guided by emotion and craftsmanship. At the heart of this partnership lies a shared belief in the intelligence of materials, the tactile narrative, and the power of objects to convey more than just visual appeal.

A months-long creative exchange between Studiopepe and Ege carpets, the Danish manufacturer, has resulted in three designer pieces. Woven from recycled materials using Ege's closed-loop manufacturing process, the rugs evoke handcrafted gestures: marks in clay, brushstrokes on fabric, impressions left by movement. "It's an homage to the beauty of the process and to imperfection. We hope they invite calm, curiosity, and a sense of serenity, rather than making loud statements," say the designers. Each rug offers a distinct atmosphere, but all are linked by a common language: forms that appear elemental without ever being obvious. The materials were carefully selected and sustainably sourced, embodying the taste of Scandinavian production and the expressive sensibility of Italian design.
