Produced and developed for the Mayrit Architecture and Design Biennial, held in Madrid in 2022, the Ressaca collection is an immersive work that transports the viewer to a dystopian world where humanity's last remaining natural resources are its waste and slag. Broken, sharp glass forms the primary construction element of what we imagine to be an eccentric piece, shimmering with danger. Vila pushes to the limit a set of semi-utilitarian furniture that threatens and provokes, invites and prohibits in equal measure—a speculative design exercise that reflects the future of society.

Founder and chief designer of Aparentment, Josep Vila is a multidisciplinary designer with ties to fashion, advertising, photojournalism, and even music. In 2012, he launched his first collection of objects, Marblelous, which garnered national and international acclaim.
