Designed in France at the height of the Space Age movement in the late 1960s, this pendant light by Max Sauze is an award-winning example of French architectural lighting design. Produced by Studio Max Sauze (Ligne Sauze), these creations were conceived as dynamic light sculptures rather than simply as functional lighting elements.

The lamp is structured around a steel wire frame that supports four cascading tiers of curved, brushed aluminum blades. The entire piece is crafted using an ingenious interlocking assembly system with no visible welds. The curvature of the aluminum plates acts simultaneously as a light reflector and glare shield, diffusing the light through staggered geometric openings and projecting captivating patterns of light and shadow.
