This original lithograph by Leonor Fini, rare and subtle, brings together five female figures in a suspended space, outside of time. Some are barely sketched, others seem to question us directly. Their bodies can be guessed in an interlacing of fluid lines, as if emerging from a hazy memory or a barely vanished dream. This group, with their averted gazes, expresses a form of silent sisterhood, of mute complicity.

Fini, with an ethereal grace, explores here the idea of the feminine plural: neither muse nor allegory, but full, real, mysterious womenEach embodies a presence, an attitude, an emotional nuance. The void between them becomes a language. The minimalist, almost spectral design captures the essence of what Fini has always known how to represent: inner elegance, the beauty hidden behind the veil of the invisible.

This numbered and signed proof, printed on Arches paper, is a tribute to femininity in all its diversity, between psychological density and formal touch.

In this airy and almost whispered composition, Leonor Fini brings together five female figures in one scene without scenery, without explicit narration, but full of presenceSome women are rendered with precision—defined faces, elaborate headdresses, full gazes—while others fade into the background, as if in the process of appearing or disappearing. This play of alternation between the visible and the sketched creates a poetic tension that evokes memory, dreams, or even plurality of facets of the feminine.

Each of these women seems inhabited by her own thoughts, isolated but never alone. Their gestures, their poses and their gazes construct a scene of implicit sisterhood, of inner presence. It is a work to be contemplated slowly, which speaks to the eye as much as to intuition.

In one contemporary interior, this lithograph fits perfectly into a refined, minimal or romantic universe. It will gain in intensity on a light wall, in a room dedicated to calm (library, bedroom, reading corner), or opposite other feminine works. Its formal discretion contrasts with the richness of its symbolic charge.

The team's opinion The Auctionlab

This work is undoubtedly one of the most meditative and silent among the lithographs of Leonor Fini. We find there her sense of mystery, her keen observation and her deep love for female figures—not idealized, but revealed in all their density.

This delicately sketched group of women echoes the plurality of female identities that Fini has always defended, breaking with imposed archetypes. It is a piece that touches on the spiritual without religiosity, on emotion without grandiloquence. It will delight graphic art collectors as well as lovers of symbolic and rare works.
