Plutôt qu’une coloration appliquée, les créateurs de M’rirt ont conçu une composition abstraite volumétrique rappelant l’architecture minérale, transformant le textile en véritable sculpture textile. This contemporary M’rirt rug stands out for its remarkable three-dimensional construction. Instead of a printed or colored motif, the entire design is created through variations in pile height.
Rows of thick, raised wool rectangles alternate with finely woven recessed lines, forming an abstract composition reminiscent of stonework or an architectural façade. The monochrome sand-beige palette allows the texture to become the main decorative element.
Hand-knotted in the M’rirt region of Morocco, the rug is made from carefully selected natural sheep’s wool. M’rirt weaving is renowned for its dense structure, generous pile and exceptionally soft finish.
Its warm neutral color works particularly well with natural wood, linen, concrete, leather and minimalist furniture. The almost square proportions are ideal for anchoring a seating area or adding depth to a large contemporary room.
